Last week, we welcomed quite a few visitors on KAYEC premises: on Thursday the managing director Nicola Humpert of the BGZ (Berliner Gemeinschaft für internationale Zusammenarbeit) and her collegue Birgitta Strunk from The Governing Mayour Berlin came together with friendly company from the Namibia Institute for Democracy to have a look at our workshops.
Followed by German Parlamentarian Rainer Semet, who stopped by on the weekend with friends from the German International Cooperation (giz) to get a picture of KAYEC Vocational Centre.
One part of the conversations were the recent negotiations between the City of Windhoek and IHK Berlin (Chamber of Commerce and Industry Berlin), centred arround bringing Namibian labour force to Germany to fill the skills gap there, as the namibian reported on their cover page yesterday. So let’s see how Namibian-German cooperation on vocationial training will bring in the future – exciting times ahead!
